You know when they close the mall for an event you know there’s something special going on. That was the scene on December 14th for the second “Sensitive Santa” sponsored by Algoma Autism Foundation for families touched by ASD ( autism spectrum disorder)
Often times, the hustle and bustle of the season can be difficult for children with autism and stressful for the children and the parents. That’s what makes “sensitive Santa” such a wonderful event.
Prior to the mall opening, the music and pa systems were shut down, no pedestrian traffic was allowed in the mall while the kids met with Santa on a one on one basis, allowing these children to experience the same enjoyment with Santa, but in a much calmer, less intimidating environment
