Armed Robbery at Gore Street Macs


On the 24th of December 2014 at approximately 2:04am officers from Patrol Services responded to a robbery at the Macs Convenience Store on Gore Street.

A lone male entered the store wearing a balaclava stating that he had a gun and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect fled on foot westbound on Cathcart Street with an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as: White male, 5’5”-5’7”, 100-115lbs, thin-small build, wearing: brown-green winter jacket with grey stripes and a big zero on the top back of the jacket, track pants, black running shoes, red sweater, carrying a blue-black sports bag. The store employee was unhurt during the incident.

Police checked the area and were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. This incident is still under investigation, anyone with information is urged to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
