The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is pleased to announce that first-year forward TIM GETTINGER has been selected to Team USA’s entry at the Four Nations Tournament.
This year’s tournament will be held December 16-20 in Ann Arbor, Michigan along with teams from Switzerland, Slovakia and Russia.
“We as an organization are very proud of the steps Tim has taken with his game this year. Coming in as a 16 year old, Tim has earned the trust of his teammates and coaching staff to not just play in all situations but to excel at the same time” began Greyhounds GM Kyle Raftis.
“His development continues to grow at a rapid rate and this opportunity to compete at the Four Nations Cup will give him an opportunity to continue on this path through international competition.”
Gettinger, a native of North Olmstead, OH was originally selected by the Hounds in the 3rd Round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.
In 25 games played this season he has 7 goals and 8 assists (15 points) to go along with a +3 rating.
Team USA’s round-robin schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, December 16 vs Russia – 7 p.m. EST
- Wednesday, December 17 vs Switzerland – 7 p.m. EST
- Friday, December 19 vs Slovakia – 7 pm. EST
*** All games to be played at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube
Team USA enter’s the tournament as the defending champion and has won six of the last seven tournaments.
