The Greyhounds welcomed the Kingston Frontenacs for the first time this season and Kingston didn’t waste any time setting a very fast paced game.
The first score would come from Kingston’s Polesello at 7:16 as he slipped the puck by Halverson. The Frontenacs kept good control during the first period which but Kingston would get caught on a line change and the puck came by their bench. With six players on the ice Kingston were handed a two minute minor for Too Many Men on the ice at the 13:31 mark.
With a couple of minutes left to play in the first period there was a big scramble in front of Halverson but when the buzzer went to signal the end of the first period Kingston was leading the Greyhounds by a score of 1-0.

The Greyhounds would add pressure and speed in the second period. With some quick passing and on the initial shot by Jenkins the puck would be deflected by McCann which was stopped by Kingston’s net minder Peressini giving up a rebound to Blake Speers who didn’t have a problem putting the puck into the net at the 10:02 mark to tie the game at 1 a piece.
On a 2 on 1 breakaway Tolchinsky would get a nice pass from Jenkins to put the Greyhounds into the lead by 1 at 17:42. With 42 seconds left in the second period there was some pushing and shoving behind Halverson resulting in coincidental minors given to Moore and Duchesne for Roughing and a minor penalty handed out to Goetz for Roughing also. At the end of the second period the score was Greyhounds 2, Frontenacs 1.
Jenkins and Senyshyn had a couple of good scoring chances for the Greyhounds in the third period. With only 4 minutes in Jenkins would side step some checks and work his way to the net to get a shot on goal but Kingston would tie things up at 13:19 on a goal by Polesello.
About 30 seconds after Kingston’s goal Senyshyn would have an opportunity to put the Greyhounds back into the lead but was stopped by Peressini.

Greyhounds still kept up the fast pace which payed off when Speers would get his second goal of the game at 17:44 and the score was Greyhounds 3, Frontenacs 2. Kingston would pull Peressini at 1:06 for the extra attacker. Ganly would be called for a Delay of Game penalty with 42 seconds left in the game giving Kingston a 2 man advantage.
The Greyhounds would keep the Frontenacs from scoring and at the end of the game the Greyhounds beat Kingston 3-2. Shots on goal for the game were Sault – 40, Kingston – 23.
The Greyhounds continue their home stand when the Windsor Spitfires come to town on Sunday with the game start time at 2:05.
