Local Radio Still Tops In Ratings


When it comes to listening to the radio, Sault Ste. Marie’s two radio stations still rank as number 1 in the market.

The latest ratings book released on November 27th by S4 Ratings Numeris (formerly BBM Canada) shows by a comfortable lead for the two Rogers Radio properties in the Sault.

KISS 100.5 earns top honours as the city’s most popular radio station pulling in 27.5% share followed by sister country station Country 104.3 with 25.8% share. Compared to Michigan stations Rock 101 with 10.2 % and YES FM falling to just 6% share.

In the all important demo of Adults 25 to 54 KISS 100.5 continues to best all other stations with 37.9% tuning in compared to Country 104.3 with 25.7% Rock 101 at 10.0 and YESFM with 8.4%

In the stiff morning show competition, Scott Turnbull and Lou-Anne Young from KISS 100.5 takes a commanding lead with 41.5% of the listeners along with Country 104.3 with 25.3% American stations have a long way to catch up with YES FM pulling 9.6% and Rock 101 attracting only 7.2% Monday to Friday morning from the 6am to 10am period.
