David Orazietti, MPP today joined staff from several Ministries, Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) and Diane Marshall, Chair of Christmas Cheer, at the Roberta Bondar Place to donate holiday gifts to the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Holiday Toy Drive.
“I am proud to support the OPS and OLG employees with their holiday toy drive to help children and their families in Sault Ste. Marie have a happy holiday season,” said Orazietti. “In the spirit of the season, there are many great causes and organizations in our community to support, which help to make the season brighter for those less fortunate.”
Staff at the Roberta Bondar Place have generously collected gifts over the past few weeks for Saultites in need this holiday season. The items will be presented to Sault Ste. Marie Christmas Cheer, a program committed to providing a better holiday season for underprivileged individuals and families across the city.
Provincial employees in Sault Ste. Marie participate in numerous charitable activities during the holiday season and throughout the year. Some of those activities include, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s, Adopt-a-Family holiday program, through the Women in Crisis Centre to provide gifts and household items for families in need; and for the past 20 years, staff at Service Ontario, the Ministry of the Attorney General and local law firms join together for the Toy’s for Lunch program collecting and donating gifts to the Christmas Cheer Depot;
