Friday Night Soo Thunderbirds forward and top scorer Nick Tassone recorded his second hat trick of the season in a 7-1 victory over the Mattawa Blackhawks and reached the 20 goal plateau passing his career goal totals 18 from a season ago. He also became the first T-Bird to get a natural hat trick since Grant Syrette on October 2nd, 2013.
Matt: How did it feel getting your second hat trick of the season?
Nick: It was a good feeling, especially after a win. It was a good team effort.
Matt: Describe what went right for you in tonight’s game?
Nick: My line mates were really clicking and without their passes I wouldn’t have had as much success.
Matt: How does it feel reaching the 20 goal plateau?
Nick: It’s pretty surreal. Throughout my years I’ve never reached such a milestone so it’s pretty great to do it in my last year.
Matt: How are you preparing for Sunday’s game?
Nick: Pretty much the same as tonight, good rest, lots of fluids and remembering how they stole a win from us last time.
