On the 6th of December 2014 at approximately 11:12am Patrol & Traffic Services responded to a single motor vehicle accident on Trunk Road and Highway 17A.
The investigation revealed a transport travelling south bound on Highway 17A failed to negotiate a right turn onto Highway 17B (Trunk Road). As a result, the transport travelled south through the intersection and off the roadway into the bush area.
There were no injuries reported for the driver, the transport had severe damage. The highway was closed for a number of hours to remove the transport from the scene. The investigation continues, charges pending.
What a stupid intersection! How many transports have not negotiated that turn? What an inconvenience for travellers going either way.
