Peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at the age of 85, with family at his side.
Loved husband of Betty for 62 years. Loving father of Cathy Jensen (Jerry), late John Douglas and daughter-in-law Carrie Fortin (Reg). Proud Grandfather of Matthew (Laurel) and Ainslie Pierman (Michael). Great Grandfather of baby Bria. Les was one of 11 children born to Anne and Jack Watters of Englehart. He is survived by his sisters Jean McFarlane (Randall), Beatrice McFarlane (late Ivan), and his sister-in-law Patricia (late Robert). Les also loved and was loved by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Les was a volunteer at his church, Holy Trinity Anglican and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25. He was a Sault Ste. Marie city bus driver and retired after 33 years with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department. We enjoyed our many friends and neighbors and of course Harness Racing was a big part of our lives.
Friends may call at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 1pm until time of service at 2pm.
Memorial contributions to the Parkinson Society or Holy Trinity Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated.
