Another Visitor Restriction at SAH

0

Due to an Influenza outbreak, the Sault Area Hospital (SAH) Complex Continuing Care Unit (2C) will be closed to all visitors effective immediately. The Rehabilitation Unit (2B) continues to be closed to visitors as well.

We apologize to patients’ families and loved ones for the inconvenience and unit staff will be available to respond to phone calls and provide updates as requested. This action is necessary to help stem the spread of the flu within the unit and elsewhere in the hospital and protect the well-being of patients, staff and the visitors themselves.

Regular visiting hours and rules are in effect for all other areas of the hospital and we ask everyone to use discretion and refrain from visiting if experiencing any symptoms of illness. Those who do come to the hospital are asked to wash their hands often with the solution provided throughout the facility and to be respectful of any other direction or requests from staff.

SAH will continue to monitor the situation closely, including an ongoing review of the visitor restriction status, and advise the public immediately of any changes.

We thank everyone for their cooperation.
