UPDATE: Highway 17 north is now re-opened

 

UPDATE: 7PM  Saultonline.com has learned that the Highway is now closed at Heyden through to Wawa. Reports of numerous vehicles in ditches along the highway with zero to poor visibility.

Highway 17 north is closed at Batchawana to Wawa due to extremely poor visibility from snow squalls. Highway 17 north in this stretch has been closed numerous times this week due to persistent snow squall activity dumping as much as 20cm or more in this area.

OPP do not know how long the highway will be closed. An update will be posted once the highway re-opens.
