Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced this afternoon the acquisition of forward JUSTIN BAILEY from the Kitchener Rangers.
In exchange the Hounds send DAVID MILLER along with four draft picks to Kitchener; 3rd Round (Plymouth’s) in 2015, 2nd Round in 2016, 2nd Round in 2018 and a conditional 3rd Round in 2018.
Bailey, from Williamsville NY, is in his third season in the Ontario Hockey League and has led all Rangers in scoring this year.
In 35 games he has 22 goals and 19 assists, good for 41 points. Seven of those goals have come on the power play, while two others have come shorthanded.
With the Rangers he has previously been named their team’s Most Valuable Player (2013-14) and Rookie of the Year (2012-13).
The 19-year old was selected in the 2nd Round (52nd overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year entry-level deal with the club this past November.
Bailey is expected to meet the Hounds on Tuesday in Sudbury.
