For Draw 3 of the 2015 Junior Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships.
Team Glibota recorded a 10-3 win over Team Silver from Fort Frances. After a close start that had Glibota taking 2 in the first and Silver rebounding with 3 in the second, Glibota went on to take three of their own and then steals of five more. Team Glibota remains undefeated with a record of 3-0, tied with 3 other teams in the standings for first place.
In the Junior Ladies, Team Rutledge defeated Team Dumoulin from Cochrane by a score of 8-4. Rutledge controlled the game early, pulling out to an early 5-0 lead after 3 ends. Dumoulin responded by stealing singles in the next three ends. After a trade of singles, Rutledge ran Dumoulin out of rocks. Team Rutledge remains undefeated with a record of 3-0.
In other Men’s action for Draw 3 seen Team Horgan beat Team S. Cull 9 to 1 in 6 ends, Team Warkentin took down Team Hoppe 8-0 in 5 ends and Team Acorn beat Team M. Cull 6 to 5.

On the Women’s side Team M. Smith took the win against Team Barclay 9-6, Team Burns beat Team J. Smith 6 to 3 in 8 ends and Team Poirier defeated Team Stinson 8-3 in 9 ends.
In Draw 4 action Team Rutledge lost the battle of the two undefeated Junior Ladies teams. Rutledge was defeated by Team Megan Smith of the Sudbury Curling Club by a score of 9-2. Rutledge took 1 in the first but gave up a big end of 5 in the second. The teams traded singles and then Smith took three more in the sixth and the game was conceded early. Team Smith is now alone in first place in the standings at 4-0 while Rutledge drops to 3-1.

In the Junior Men’s division, Team Glibota defeated Team S. Cull by a score of 8-7 after an extra end. Glibota opened with three in the first and took two in both the the fifth and eighth ends. They were able to hold Cull to singles until the tenth when Cull stole 3 to tie it up. Glibota hit and stuck for one in an exciting extra end. Team Glibota remains undefeated at 4-0, tied with three other teams with the same record.
Other results for the Jr Women’s include for Draw 4 are Team Poirier defeated Team J. Smith 11 to 4 in 8 ends, Team Burns beat Team Stinson 8-7 and Team Barclay defeated Team Dumoulin 11 to 2 in 7 ends.

For the Jr Men’s Team Warkentin beat Team M. Cull 9-3 in 8 ends, Team Acorn defeated Team Hoppe 9 to 5 in 9 ends and Team Horgan beat Team Silver 7 to 2 in 6 ends.
In Draw 5, the final draw for the day Team Glibota was defeated by Team Warkentin by a score of 7-6. In a game that went back and forth, the turning point was a steal of two by Warkentin in the eighth end. The two teams were tied in the tenth, but Warkentin took one point for the win with hammer. Team Glibota drops to 4-1 and is tied with Team Acorn for second. Horgan and Warkentin remain undefeated and tied for first place.
Team Rutledge was defeated by Team Burns by a score of 8-5. This was also a tight game of back and forth until Burns took control with steals in the ninth and tenth ends for the win. Team Rutledge drops to 3-2 and is tied for third place with two other teams behind Burns and Smith, who remains undefeated at 5-0.
In the other matchups in the Jr Men’s Team Horgan beat Team Acorn 8 to 5 in 9 ends, Team Silver defeated Team Hoppe 7-5 in 9 ends and Team S. Cull beat Team M. Cull 9 to 3 in 9 ends.

On the Jr Women’s side Team Barclay defeated Team Poirier 9-6 in 9 ends, Team J. Smith beat Team Dumoulin 13 to 3 in 7 ends and Team M. Smith defeated Team Stinson 10-4 in 7 ends.
The final round robin draws continue today with the first draw at 9:30 and the second at 2:30.
