Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced his second transaction in as many days this evening, acquiring NICK RITCHIE and CONNOR BOLAND from the Peterborough Petes.
In exchange, the Hounds send KYLE JENKINS along with four draft picks to the Petes;  2nd Round 2015 (Plymouth’s), 3rd Round 2017, 2nd Round 2019 and 2nd Round 2020.
Ritchie, in his fourth season in the OHL, is coming off a gold medal performance with Team Canada at the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championship.
That adds to his two previous gold medals with Canada’s Program of Excellence while suiting up with the National Under 18 squads at both the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and 2013 IIHF World U18 Championship.
The Orangeville, ON native was selected in the 1st Round (10th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks and signed a three-year entry-level contract this past August.
This season, the 6.03, 229-lb winger has 14 goals and 18 assists, good for 32 points in 25 games played. One year ago he led all Petes with 74 points in 61 games played (39 goals and 35 assists).
Boland, is in his fifth and final season in the Ontario Hockey League, all of which has been spent with the Petes. In 36 games played this season he has 3 goals and 8 assists (11 points) matching his career best totals. He also served as the Petes captain this 2014-15 season. This past August he attended the Edmonton Oilers main training camp as a free agent.
