Second year forward Brett Jeffries picked up one assist as the Soo Thunderbirds drop a 4-3 overtime decision to the Mattawa Blackhawks in their first game of 2015.
Matt: After a strong first period out shooting the Blackhawks 13-0 and leading 1-0, what happened the rest of the game?
Brett: We got into a bit of penalty trouble in the second which set us back.
Matt: Heading into tonight’s game, what did you expect even though they are second last in the league?
Brett: We were expecting them to come out strong and give us s tough game.
Matt: How are you and the guys going to prepare for Sunday’s road game?
Brett: We plan to come out, have a good skate tomorrow morning and then come out hard against Elliot Lake.
