Passed away peacefully, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in his 77th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret (nee Edwards) for 55 wonderful years. Loving father and mentor of Kevin (Judy), Donna (Marc Dupuis), Andrew (Jenni), and the late Alison (Mike Gamba). Wonderful supportive Papa to 14 grandchildren and great Papa to 4. Son of the late Emily and Robert Taylor and is survived by his brother, Ronald (Judy) and his sister, Barbara Pauli (late Jack) and predeceased by his brother, Bruce (Linda). Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a wonderful family man who loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and a patient small game hunter. He put in a large vegetable garden every year and enjoyed sharing his harvest with his family and friends. Jack retired in 1997 after 36 years of service as a switchman on the trains at Algoma Steel. After retirement, Jack found peace and contentment at the family camp at Beech Beach.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his life will be held in the spring. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations in his honour can be made to the Sault Area Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
