Sault Area Hospital (SAH) has officially declared the Influenza outbreak over. In addition, due to a decrease in Influenza-like illness both in the community and the Emergency department, SAH has lifted the visitor restrictions.
SAH asks everyone to use discretion and refrain from visiting if experiencing any symptoms of illness. Anyone coming to the hospital is also urged to wash their hands often with the solution provided throughout the facility and to be respectful of any direction or requests from staff.
The hospital wishes to thank the public and especially the families of patients for their understanding and patience during this time. A special thanks to Infection Prevention and Control, all staff, physicians, volunteers, and Algoma Public Health for their vigilance and hard work in managing the outbreak.
