Shoplifting
On the 16th of January 2015 at approximately 3:15pm officers from Patrol Services attended 200 McNabb Street Canadian Tire Store with regards to an adult male shoplifter. Investigation revealed that the accused took store merchandise without paying for it and was apprehended by store security. The accused escaped from lawful custody of the store security and was once again apprehended and held for police. Charged with Theft under $5,000 and Escape Lawful Custody is 20 year old Brandon Elliot WYATT of 169 Huron Street Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He will appear in court on the 23rd of February 2015.
Domestic Charges
On the 16th of January 2015 at approximately 2:00pm members from Patrol and Investigation Services attended a downtown residence and arrested a 34year old male on domestic related charges. It is alleged the accused assaulted and threatened his common law partner on a number of occasions between the 30th of November 2014 and the 16th of January 2015. The accused was charged with five counts of assault, one count of aggravated assault, two counts of overcome resistance-choking and threatening to cause bodily harm. The accused will appear in WASH Court later this morning, the 17th of January 2015.
