Enterprise Olympics Shines Future on Youth

0

What does Northern Ontario offer as far as opportunities for young people? A unique event is coming to Sault Ste. Marie this May that will provide the answers to that and many other questions surrounding youth entrepreneurship.

Enterprise Olympics,  is a two day competitive event where students will get to meet, talk with and be advised by young inspiring entrepreneurs. The students will then work with other secondary students from across North Eastern Ontario to develop a business idea, prepare a rudimentary business plan and execute a professional elevator pitch! These business ideas are developed on site with people from all over Northern Ontario.

Students can choose to work in one of the six different sectors:Health and Wellness, Retail, Technology and Innovation, Arts and Culture, Social Enterprise, and Mining and Forestry.

They will compete their business ideas against other groups in their sectors to win prize money. The six winning teams from each sector will then compete in a final competition to each win a $1,000 bursary to the Post-Secondary School in the Northern Ontario of their choice.

Secondary students in all grades, all students are welcome. We encourage students that have a passion in any subject to come to the event to learn how they can take that passion and turn it into a career.

When is Enterprise Olympics?
Wednesday May 13th from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Thursday May 14th from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm

Where is Enterprise Olympics?

The goal of Enterprise Olympics is to motivate and inspire young people to search within themselves for entrepreneurial qualities and characteristics, leading them towards a rewarding and gratifying career as their own boss. This event gives them a chance to explore this opportunity and connect them with the business opportunities that are here in Northern Ontario.
