High School Semi Finals Finished

With the second game of the best out of three games both the St. Basil Saints and St. Mary’s Knights advance to the Finals.
The game between St. Mary’s and CASS was held at the McMeeken Centre.  The Huskies got out to an early lead on a power play goal by Alex Hansen.  The Knights came back with a goal by Erik Paradis at the 9:53 mark and at the end of the first period the game was tied at 1 a piece.
The second period belonged to St. Mary’s with two goals being scored by Mitchel Robinson and Mike Fabbro on the Huskies net minder Merrick Adams giving the Knights a 3 to 1 lead over CASS.
The Knights continued to dominate the ice with an additional two goals in the third period with Erik Paradis getting his second goal of the game and Mitchel Robinson also getting his second and at the end of the game St. Mary’s won with a score of 5 – 1 ending the best of three series at two games.
Superior Heights Steelhawks faced off against St. Basil Saints at the Rhodes with St. Basil scoring two quick goals in the first period, Anthony Biocchi at 5:58 and Josh Fisher at 3:22.
St. Basil would add a lone goal in the second period by Mike Cicchelli and at the end of the second period St. Basil would have a 3 – 0 lead over Superior Heights.
The third period had the Saints score a short handed goal by Matthew Ferlaino at 6:28 and Josh Fisher would score at 3:07 giving the Saints the shut out with a score of 5-0 with St. Basil winning the series in two straight.
The St. Basil Saints will now face the St. Mary’s Knights in the final which is slated for 7:00 pm at the Essar on Sunday, 22 Feb 15 for the first game of the best out of 5.  Game 2 is scheduled on Monday, 23 Feb 15 at John Rhodes 1 and Game 3 on Wednesday, 25 Feb 15 at John Rhodes 2
