Less than twenty four hours after scoring the overtime goal in a 9-8 win in Kapiskasing last night, T-Birds forward Jakob Porco was the hero again for the second straight game in a shootout this afternoon, giving the Thunderbirds a 4-3 win over the Timmins Majors at MacIntyre Arena.

The Majors led 1-0 after one courtesy of Dillon Bruce’s power play goal and thirtieth of the season at 3:41 from Jared Hester. After scoring his second hat trick of the season last night, Zac Senecal got his twentieth goal from Jared Fanti just 5:10 into the second. Then, after scoring three straight short handed tallies last night in Kapuskasing and finishing off with a four goal game, Brendan Gillis scored short handed, unassisted at 8:35 to put the Soo up 2-1 through two. Dillon Bruce’s second goal of the game on the power play and thirty first at 1:48 from Alexandre Brisson and Brett Andrews tied it up at two. Brad Thrower would tie it up at three with 8:04 left in the third with his fifteenth from Jared Fanti and Carmen Scarfone. Jake Porco’s shootout goal was the game winner for the Soo.
