Significant Amounts Of Snow

1

Significant snowfall amounts expected this weekend.

The first Alberta clipper like disturbance which brought some snow to all regions last night will sail out of Northeastern Ontario into Southern Ontario, with snow becoming patchy and light in its wake. Meanwhile a second and stronger Alberta clipper will spread snow quickly into Northwestern Ontario this morning then across Lake Superior into Northeastern Ontario this afternoon. Most regions will receive a total of 10 to 15 cm of snow by Sunday morning. This is below the warning threshold of 15 cm per 12 hours.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Agawa – Lake Superior Park
  • Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
  • Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay

Poor winter driving conditions from low visibility in the snow and occasional blowing snow in exposed areas are expected. Untreated roads will become snow covered and may become slippery. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.
