The community’s Veterans Commemorative Monument takes another step forward this week with an information session at the Sault Rotary Club Tuesday March 10.
This starts a series of community presentations to groups, service clubs and others. The next one is April 15 to the Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore. Anyone wanting a presentation for their group or association can call (705) 946-2464 or email [email protected] The website, thosewhoserved.ca has drawings of the proposed monument, background and donation information.
The Veterans Commemorative Monument Planning Committee has been working since last fall on the waterfront monument which will recognize the men and women who have volunteered and served with the Canadian Armed Forces.
If you or someone you know is a veteran who wishes to be recognized, please contact Healey. Profiles will be written on veterans detailing their courage, bravery, and service in the Canadian Armed Forces.
