With the last regular season game of the 2014/15 season the Greyhounds surpassed their record setting points of 109 set in 1984/85 season with a total of 110 points for the 2014/15 season.
Brandon Halverson also set a new record for the club with 40 wins in the regular season surpassing John Vanbesbrouck in the 1982/83 season and Kyle Gajewski in the 2007/08 season who each had 39 wins.
The opening period seen the Soo Greyhounds having more scoring chances than the visiting Kitchener Rangers but remained scoreless after the first 20 minutes of play.
Gabe Guertler would open the scoring for the Greyhounds on a rebound by Kitchener’s net minder Dawson Carty to give the hometown heroes a 1-0 lead. Sergey Tolchinsky would get a 2 minute minor for Throwing Stick when Tolchinsky tossed Jared McCann his lost stick.
Michael Bunting would round out the scoring in the second period on another rebound from McCann’s initial shot on the Rangers’ net and at the end of the second period the Greyhounds had a 2-0 lead.
Nick Ritchie would get his 29th goal of the season at 1:39 on a feed from Darnell Nurse and Blake Speers.
While short handed Blake Speers and Bryan Moore would have an odd man rush with a good chance but were robbed by Carty.

Shortly after Ritchie would have another opportunity but was also stopped and with the sound of the buzzer the Greyhounds were credited with the win by a score of 3-0.
Playoffs start on Friday March 27th and Saturday March 28th when the Greyhounds play host to the Saginaw Spirit.
