At 11:15pm on March 14, 2015 Sault Ste. Marie Police officers attended at a local hotel after receiving information of a women was being detained against her will. Investigation revealed that a domestic argument was going on between the male and female. Both of the parties involved were intoxicated. A check of the male found that he was on a probation order with conditions not to communicate with this female and to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The male was breaching both these conditions and was arrested.
The male is to appear in W.A.S.H court on Sunday March 15, 2015.

RIDE On Carmen’s Way
On March 15, 2015 Sault Ste. Marie Police officers were conducting an R.I.D.E. Program on Carmen’s Way. Officers checked a vehicle being operated by the accused, 44 year old Derek Maki of Searchmont, and found that his ability to operate the vehicle was impaired. The accused was returned to the police station where he failed a breathalyzer exam. The accused has been charged with driving a motor vehicle while his ability was impaired and drive a motor vehicle in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol.
Maki will appear in court on April 13.
