After close to a $300, 000 dollar boost to the economy through numerous grants, NORDIK Research Institute is preparing to unveil their project aimed at animating the John Roswell Hub Trail. Complete with QR codes, trail guides and web portals project developers are preparing to launch the enhancements to the Hub Trail in April 2015. And oh yeah? Have you heard about those sooty little chimney swifts dive bombing the Sault Ste. Marie Courthouse? Yes, that’s the truth!
The project developers designed an improved user experience utilizing pre-existing hub infrastructure by creating virtual maps, as well as trail guides, to coincide with each trail marker found every half kilometer along the 25 kilometer trail. The trail guide can be experienced in English, French and Anishinaabemowin.
