Locally, we have three teams competing in OFSAA.  The Korah Colts are the representatives in OFSAA “AA”, while the Superior Heights Steel Hawks are competing in OFSAA “AAA” in Senior Boys Basketball.  The St. Mary’s Knights are the NOSSA Champions in High School Hockey and are in Pembroke competing in Hockey – Boys “A/AA”.
 
In Ottawa the Korah Colts went up against St. Joseph’s Catholic High School from St. Thomas. 
 
The Colts took an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back scoring 15 to St. Joseph’s 10.  Korah added 16 more points in the second quarter while holding St. Joseph’s to 9 and at the end of the first half the score was Korah – 31, St. Joseph’s – 19.
 
The third quarter St. Joseph’s started to close the gap scoring 12 points and Korah only scored 9.  The points advantage went to Korah and at the end of the game the final score was Korah – 50, St. Joseph’s – 39.
 
Top point getters for Korah were Jonah Fogg with 14 and Nick Nicoletta had 7.
 
Korah’s next game is Tuesday against Timmins High & Vocational School with a start time of 11:15 am.
 
Meanwhile in Windsor the Superior Steel Hawks took on Catholic Central London.  Superior Heights led from the get go scoring 18 points in the first quarter while Catholic Central counted 12. Catholic Central pulled within one point at the close of the second quarter.
 
Superior Heights added 15 points in the third while Catholic Central could only score 14.  Catholic Central lost ground in the fourth quarter losing to Superior Heights by a score of 51 to 47.
 
High scorers for Superior Heights were Lars Moffatt with 24 and Chandler Simpson had 10.
 
Superior Heights will hit the court against West Humber on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
 
As of early this morning there were no scores posted for the St. Mary’s Nights in OFSAA Boys Hockey A/AA.  We will update the story when scores are available
