Beginning in late January 2015, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Technological Crime Unit began an online undercover investigation into the distribution of child pornography on the internet from a suspect in the Sault Ste. Marie area.
On March 6, 2015, officers form the Technological Crime Unit and Emergency Services Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant on a West end Sault Ste. Marie residence.
As a result of this warrant, six computers as well as other pieces of digital media were seized.
Ronald Thaddeus Daigle age 43 of McFadden Avenue was arrested and charged with one count each of Possession of Child Pornography and Making Available Child Pornography.
Daigle is to appear in W.A.S.H court on Saturday March 07 2015.
