The Sault Ste. Marie community is invited to participate in the 4th Annual 20-Minute Makeover taking place Tuesday, May 12, 2015.
To take part, registered participants are required to clean up outside their home or business for at least 20 minutes. The intent of the community clean-up is to promote civic pride, city beautification, and acknowledge Earth Day. Last year, over 500 people participated in the city-wide initiative.
Registered participants will receive a clean-up kit containing gloves, garbage bags, and other items – while supplies last.
Registration forms and event information is available online at www.saultstemarie.ca/makeover. Participants can drop off completed registration forms and pick-up clean-up kits at the Civic Centre lobby and Walmart North (Great Northern Road) courtesy desk beginning April 13. Interested participants can also register at the Mill Market (35 Canal Drive) on Earth Day – April 22 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Prizes, including gift cards, gift baskets, and rain barrels, will be awarded for the best participant photos taken during the event.
Councillor Steve Butland will kick off the event at the Civic Centre at 11 a.m. on May 12.
Specials thanks to event sponsors: Walmart North; OLG; Tim Hortons; and media sponsors: CTV; Rogers Sault Ste. Marie Radio; and Shaw TV for their generous contributions.
