Madonna Strikes a Pose

What do long-time community supporter Lou Madonna and Krush owner Kristina Koprash have in common? Together they make a brilliant headline and both are working to support ARCH Hospice this weekend. Madonna Optical is holding a fundraising Coin Drive on Saturday, May 2nd and Krush is hosting a sold-out fashion show on Saturday, May 3rd at Northern Grand Gardens.

Madonna Optical has rallied supporters from across the city to participate in a Coin Drive happening throughout the week. Lou Madonna is excited the money is going to help local families and himself is donating his lifelong collection of over 200,000 pennies. “ARCH Hospice does a special thing in the Sault,” states Madonna. “We are lucky to have a place like ARCH when it’s our time.” Involved with the Hospice Golf Classic for the past 5 years, Madonna is a long-time ARCH supporter. Scotiabank has caught his enthusiasm and generously offered to match all coin drive donations for the week. “Any amount is appreciated. Your penny, nickel, dime, quarter or dollar may not seem like much, but when everyone can come together on something like this, it makes a big difference”. The drive culminates with a Roll Day starting at 9:30am on Saturday, May 2nd in front of Madonna Optical. All proceeds from the Coin Drive will go directly to ARCH Hospice and serving local families.

Krush sold out the 350 tickets to the Find Your Krush Fashion Gala this weekend to be held at Northern Grand Gardens. Complete with models, a delicious meal, amazing deals and trunk sale, this event is sure to be a spring highlight. Showcasing styles of Krush Clothing Boutique and Jade Wellness Studio, $10 of each $30 ticket will be donated to ARCH Hospice. ARCH Hospice will be at the event to provide information on its services and take donations.

“What an amazing weekend for ARCH and the community this will be! We are truly blessed to have leaders like Madonna Optical and Krush Clothing Boutique supporting local families with these events! It’s community supporters like these that allow us to provide comfort to local families at no charge.” says Theresa Mudge, ARCH Hospice Executive Director.

ARCH Hospice provides quality, compassionate care through end-of-life to Algoma District families at no cost. The emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort of our residents and their loved ones is our highest priority. We offer a home-away-from-home during one of life’s most important moments: the end-of-life journey. ARCH Hospice is only partially government funded, requiring $750,000 annually in community support as well as the generosity of over 100 volunteers to provide our services to the community.
