June is Parks and Recreation Month

At the May 25th Council meeting June was proclaimed as Parks and Recreation Month for Sault Ste. Marie.  Joe Cain, manager Recreation and Culture for Sault Ste. Marie, expressed how important it is to stay active, hence Parks and Recreation Month.

It all starts on May 31st at the Northern Community Centre where everyone is invited to join in an afternoon of free fun activities.  Snacks will be provided.

On June 1st, we will have the opportunity to celebrate and share the Pan Am Games spirit from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  There will be entertainment by Francesco Yates, The Hustle Brothers, and interactive games and activities for the whole family.

On June 4th we will have the grand opening of the Strathclair Dog Park at 3:30pm at the Humane Society entrance.

July 1st. , Canada Day, there will be the Hub Trail Festival with merchants, food vendors, booths along the way, and promotional merchandise.  It goes from 10am to 2pm.
