The last of the schedule for High School Soccer finished Tuesday with the last three games being played, two in the Senior Boys and one in the Junior Girls.
Heading into the first game in the Senior Boys both the Korah Colts and the St. Mary’s Knights were tied for first place. St. Mary’s would score the first goal in the first half to lead the Colts by one. The Knights would add one more goal in the second half to make the score 2 to 0. Korah was awarded a penalty kick and the chance to pull within one but did not come to light.
The second game of the Senior Boys had the St. Basil Saints hit the field against the Superior Heights Steel Hawks. Prior to the game both teams were tied for second place. Superior Heights would add two quick goals in the first half and with no scoring in the second half the final score was Steel Hawks – 2, Saints – 0.
In the Junior Girls game Superior Heights Steel Hawks went up against the Korah Colts. Both teams had equal chances to score in the first half, but it seemed that the Colts ran out of steam in the second half with the Steel Hawks dominating Korah’s end and had quite a few scoring chances. With almost two minutes left to play in the game Superior Heights would get the winning goal to down Korah 1 to 0.
With the long weekend coming up the next game scheduled is on Tuesday, May 19th with only a single game for the Senior Girls. The fourth place team Superior Heights Steel Hawks will go against the fifth place team White Pines Wolverines
