Knights Junior Boys had Perfect Record

Rod Aubertin:

With only one more night of three games in High School Soccer left in the schedule for the Senior Boys and Junior Girls the final standings were completed for the Senior Girls and Junior Boys.

In Sunday action for the Junior Girls the St. Mary’s Knights led over the Superior Heights Steel Hawks at the end of the first half by a score of 1 to 0. Superior Heights battled back to tie the game but in the last 20 minutes of the second half St. Mary’s kept the ball in the Steel Hawks end but could not seal the win and settled for a 1 – 1 tie.

The next two games had the Senior Girls from St. Mary’s hit field to battle against the St. Basil Saints. The first half of the game would remain scoreless but with a lot of pressure the Saints would score a single goal to take the win 1 to 0.

In the other Senior Girls game Korah Colts would take to the field and go against the Superior Heights Steel Hawks. The Steel Hawks would score first but the Colts would tie the game a few minutes after. Again Superior Heights would
take the lead and in similar fashion Korah tied the game again in a short time. The Colts would eventually take the lead with two goals and at the end of the first half led the Steel Hawks 4 – 2.

Superior Heights battled back with a single goal but could not catch the Colts and at the end of the game the score was 6 to 3 in favor of the Colts.

The last game of the day had the Junior Boys from St. Mary’s take on Superior Heights. St. Mary’s would score the first two goals of the half while holding the Steel Hawks to a single. The Knights kept control of the game scoring three more in the second half and kept the Steel Hawks from getting more than one. The Knights took the game with a score of 5 to 2.
