New senior management positions are being located at OLG’s head office in Sault Ste. Marie, announced David Orazietti, MPP. Two new positions were recently posted exclusive to the Sault. An additional ten management roles are currently posted, seeking candidates for either location within the organization.
“I’m pleased that OLG recently issued the new senior job positions which will be located in Sault Ste. Marie demonstrating OLG’s commitment to our city,” said David Orazietti, MPP. “For over 25 years, Sault Ste. Marie has developed a community of people with deep expertise in Lottery and Gaming and I look forward to seeing OLG, as well as companies like Pollard Banknote and Canadian Bank Note, continuing to thrive in our city.”
The positions are offered in newly created functions within OLG resulting from its modernization. The Service Delivery Management (SDM) function will enable the organization to better manage relationships and contracts with its service providers. The Customer Management function will integrate customer information and processes so OLG and the service providers can deliver consistently across the customers’ gaming and lottery experiences.
“If our community is to capitalize on new jobs, then we must have a coordinated and effective recruitment strategy that results in additional positions being located in Sault Ste. Marie,” said Orazietti. “As mentioned in my recent community update, OLG and the Digital Gaming Taskforce are establishing important human resource networks to attract both Sault residents and would-be residents to well-paying OLG positions”.
OLG is also partnering with important local organizations such as Sault College, Algoma University, the Sault Ste. Marie EDC and the Sault Community Career Centre to assist with this goal.
In 2014, 119 positions were successfully filled in Sault Ste. Marie between the casino and head office location. OLG continues to actively work to expand within the community with 61 positions available in Sault Ste. Marie. More new positions, some of which will continue to be exclusive to Sault Ste. Marie, are expected to be posted in the coming weeks.
