A lot can be accomplished in 20 minutes. That’s how long it takes to eat a meal, or get ready for work or even workout on a treadmill . For hundreds of people yesterday, they spent 20 minutes sprucing up the place!
The city wide 4th annual 20 Minute Makeover invites participants to register (that gets them a clean up kit supplied by the city, while supplies last) The event kicked off Tuesday morning at the Civic Centre. Councillor Steve Butland welcomed school children to help with the clean up around City Hall along with city staff and even the Mayor spared 20 minutes of his day to do his part.
The concept is simple, for 20 minutes the participants will clean up around their home or business. Pick up garbage, sweep and get help get rid of the winter debris. Prizes were also offered for best photos submitted during the event.
About 500 people sign up for the 20 minute make over annually.
