New North Greenhouses couldn’t have asked for a better day for what is now a tradition, the “Hello Spring” event benefiting local Community Gardens. There were a variety of local vendors on hand as well as a number of activities for both the young and a bit older to take advantage of.
Sandra from Sandra Hodge Clay & Educational Art Studio was keeping a group of kids entertained sculpting and painting clay items that they can take home. Kathie Brosemer was showing another group how to use natural materials like branches, twigs and grape vines to create a variety of ornaments which would make both humans and nature proud.
Roman Peredun’s singing and guitar playing filled the air providing an ideal atmosphere for the entire family to enjoy as they visited numerous local vendors and displays; the Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society, Allard Street Community Garden, Algoma Farmers’ Market, Country Way, Cafe Natura, Johnson Farmers’ Market, Clean North, Algoma Master Gardeners, Slow Foods, St. Joseph Island Coffee Roasters, Mill Market and Entomica & Canal District Community Garden.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, I’ll let the following Gallery speak for itself as it was quite an impressive venue this year guys!!! Thanks for helping to put an end a LONG WINTER!
