It’s been a winter that won’t stop for parts of the country and for areas north of Sault Ste. Marie. There’s a potential for freezing rain , ice pellets and snow for towns like Chapleau and bigger centres like Timmins come Victoria Day. Environment Canada issued several watches and warnings for areas north of White River and a special weather statement for other parts.
Sault Ste. Marie will remain on the warmer side of things although temperatures here are expected to plunge Monday night, only rain showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast for Sunday night and part of Monday.

- Chapleau – Missinaibi Lake
- Gogama – Foleyet
A brief return to winter like conditions tonight, Monday and Monday night.
A sharp cold front moving south over the area will bring some wintery weather tonight, Monday and Monday night.
Over Northwestern Ontario, rain will change over to a brief period of freezing rain tonight and Monday morning followed by ice pellet and snow.
Over the eastern parts, the wintery weather is expected to arrive by Monday evening.
Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation. Warnings may be issued as required.
