BEATON, Chester

Chester BeatonPassed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his treasured family, on Tuesday, June 9th in his 83rd year.

Loving husband and soul mate of June (Senecal). Chester and June were privileged to spend 57 wonderful years together. Proud father of Andy (Sherry) and Nancy Evans (John). Son of the late Norman and Sarah Beaton and son-in-law of the late Lloyd and Ida Senecal (first wife) & the late Ottie (second wife). Dear brother of Loreen Knight (late Jack), Victor Beaton and the late Floyd Beaton (Elaine). Brother-in law of the late Wilfred Senecal (late Marilyn), Frank Senecal (Agnes) and Albert Senecal (Lorraine Silk). Proud grandfather of Denver, Victor, Thomas (Nicole Robinson), Jennifer Pister (David), Stephanie Evans (Tyler Tomas) and Dan Evans (Elizabeth Legacy). Adoring Grampy of Emma Evans-Legacy. Will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and great friends.

His family is grateful for the passions he shared with them; the love of hunting, camping, time spent on the family farm where he was raised, and getting together as family. His riches were measured by countless moments shared enjoying the fullness of life with his family and friends. Chester grew up on a farm in Ophir, and although he moved his family to the Soo in 1966 to work at Algoma Steel, his heart remained in the country.

Friends may call at The Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Funeral service to be celebrated in the chapel at 2 pm. Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating. Interment Aberdeen Cemetery.
