CALLOW, Joseph Albert


Joseph Albert CallowDied on D-Day, June 6, 2015 at ARCH, 71 years after he landed with the first wave of British troops on Gold Beach, Normandy.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Nancy (Parsons, née Holmes) of Sault Ste. Marie, his three daughters by his first wife, the late Vera Callow (née Griffin) of Toronto, Barbara (Dr. Jay Rajnovich) of the Sault, Gillian (Gunars Ticmanis) of Toronto and Linda Callow of Toronto, his grandchildren Jacob, Emily and Lucy Rajnovich, Allison (Sylvain Granjoux), Devin Ticmanis (Kristina Huszdi) and Tristan Ticmanis, and his great granddaughter Mae Munroe-Rajnovich. He leaves three surviving siblings Frances (Derek Able) and Joan (David Corner) in England and Sylvia (Eric Jones) in Australia. He is predeceased by his second wife, Muriel Anne Callow (née Hills), of Toronto.

Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 1:30pm until 3:30pm followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 4:00pm. Rev. Dr. David Zub officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Grafton, Ontario.
