Shot in the Dark Productions is getting ready to stage a production of The Who’s “TOMMY” this fall, and they need a cast that’s ready to rock.
Auditions for the “rock opera” will be held Thursday , June 11 and Friday, June 12 at Superior Heights (Rm. 119) at 6:30pm both nights.
Those auditioning are asked to have 16 bars of a song ready to sing (a verse and a chorus) – any song is fine. Everyone is welcome!
Directed by Sue Barber and Anthony Aceti, “TOMMY” is the story of a young boy who, after witnessing a traumatic event, goes deaf, dumb and blind. Unable to speak, hear or see, he suffers abuse from sadistic relatives
and neighbours until he discovers his talents in front of a pinball machine.
“TOMMY” will go onstage at the Mill Square Machine Shop from November 4-‐8, 2015. Tickets are on sale now at the Community Theatre Box Office in the Station Mall – Adults are $25 and Seniors/Students are $20.
The show features classic songs by The Who including one of their most famous hits, “Pinball Wizard”. All music will be played by local rock band, “That’s Chester”, featuring Greg Simpson on vocals, Gabe Tessaro and
Eugene Orlando on vocals and guitar, Aubrey Falls on vocals and bass guitar and Ric Datson on drums and percussion.
While age ranges for some of the characters are flexible, it’s important to note that the production will require a “Young Tommy” that looks 4-‐6 years old. Must be able to sing.
