Early this morning, City Police attended to the Queen St. west area of town regarding a possible impaired driver.
The vehicle was located in the area of Hudson and Albert St. W. Further investigation led officers to believe the driver of the vehicle had been drinking and a roadside was administered in which the male registered a fail. He was then transported to the Police Station where further breath tests were performed on the Intoxilyzer. Two samples produced readings in excess of 2 times the legal limit.
As a result, 53 year old Terry Champagne of 5th Line was charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. He will be appearing in Provincial Court July 27th.
