Funds Help Business Expansion in the Sault

The Province is investing in a local company in Sault Ste. Marie, helping to expand its production capacity, add a new product line and create seven jobs, David Orazietti MPP, announced today.

“This NOHFC investment is great news for our city as it will help support economic growth, strengthen our local economy and create good jobs,” said Orazietti.  “Manufacturers like Envirotek, are important contributors to communities such as Sault Ste. Marie and help to diversify our region’s economy.”

With an investment of $1 million from the province’s Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), Envirotek Sealing and Fibreglassing is constructing a new building and purchasing additional machinery.  The company currently provides industrial cleaning, sealing and coating services. It is expanding its product line to include the custom fabrication of residential and commercial duct work.

“With the construction of a new facility in Sault Ste. Marie, we will be equipped to enhance our operations and manufacture duct work for the local market,” said Patrick Praysner, President of Envirotek Sealing and Fibreglassing Inc. “I thank the Ontario government for helping us through the NOHFC investment, build a new plant, expand the business and hire new employees.”

Investing in business expansion and job creation in the North is part of the government’s plan to build Ontario up. The four-part plan includes investing in people’s talents and skills, making the largest investment in public infrastructure in Ontario’s history, creating a dynamic, innovative environment where business thrives, and building a secure retirement savings plan.

“Investments, such as this one, demonstrate our government’s commitment to diversifying the northern economy,” said Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development and Mines and Chair of the NOHFC.  “Support for manufacturers like Envirotek is helping to build up the North by driving the economy and investing in people and communities.”
