Sault Police Arrest

On June 9, 2015 at 1:50 P.M. City Police attended the Algoma Remand Centre regarding a complaint being made by an Inmate of being assaulted by other inmates. As a result of an investigation conducted, two male inmates were arrested. 30 year old David Vasey was charged with assault from an incident that occurred on June 05, 2015. A second inmate, 23 year old Cody Quesnel was charged with assault and threatening death from an incident on June 05, 2015 and assault causing bodily harm from an incident that occurred in October of 2013. Both accused will be appearing in Bail Court on June 10th.

Other Police News

On June 10, 2015, police attended at an east end residence in regards to a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed a female and her boyfriend got into an argument. During the argument the accused assaulted the victim and also damaged a door at the residence. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with a number of conditions. The accused was arrested for assault, mischief under $5000 and 3 counts of breach of probation. He attended to Bail Court earlier today

On the 9th of June just after 2 pm 50 year old Simon Barnes was located on Queen Street East and arrested for trafficking in a narcotic and possession of stolen property. The charges stem from an investigation on May 29th. When searched, officers located marijuana on the accused. He was additionally charged with possession of a narcotic. He appeared in Bail Court on June 10th.

On the 10th of June City Police arrested 34-year Ryan Yeates of Paladin Avenue and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a female known to him by grabbing her arms. The accused will appear in court on July 13th.

On June 10th just before 1:00 pm 34 year old Loretta Carey of Albert St. E. was arrested by members of the Drug Enforcement Unit and charged with 4 counts of trafficking in a narcotic, 2 counts of possession of stolen and 2 counts of breaching conditions of a probation order. These charges stemmed from incidents which occurred on May 22nd and May 29th. She will be appearing in Bail Court June 11th.
