With heavy hearts the family is saddened to announce the death of Eldon Roy Mills after a 40 year battle with heart disease on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in his 83rd year. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Cedarwood Lodge.
Left behind to mourn his loss is his soulmate of nearly 60 years Shirley Mills (Johnson). Eldon will also be missed by his 5 loving children, Brent (Christine) Mills of Kingston, Ontario, Cheryl Finch, Dwayne Mills of Whitehorse Y.T., Cindy Pearse and Mark Mills (Laurie). Gramps will be missed by grandchildren Amy Finch (Matt Massicotte), Michael Finch (Krystal Breckenridge), Tyler Pearse (Traci Constable) and Hillary Pearse. He also leaves behind his 7 great grandchildren who were the love of his life including Emily, Molly, Matthew and Jacob Massicotte-Finch, Annabelle, Abegayle and Ariel Finch. Son of the late Clifford and Olive (nee Shaule) Mills. Eldon is also survived by his brothers Glenn, Clarence of Kitchener, Ontario and Gerry of London, Ontario. Eldon was predeceased by all his other siblings. Fondly remembered as Uncle Chubby to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at O’Sullivan Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (Corner of Cathcart and St. James) on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 11:00am-2:00pm with service in the chapel to follow. Cremation and graveside inurnment at New Greenwood Cemetery Columbarium on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:00am.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Sault Area Hospital 1B, and those at Cedarwood Lodge and as Eldon called him, “Dr. J”.
