On June 12, 2015 at approximately 11:15 p.m. Batchewana First Nation Police on patrol conducted a traffic stop on Mission Road.
As a result of this traffic stop and further investigation Colin Douglas HARRIS, 40 years of age, of White Rock, British Columbia was arrested and charged with one count of Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Driving with Open Liquor in a vehicle contrary to the Liquor License Act of Ontario.
The accused was released on a Promise To Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on July 6, 2015.

Theft

Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating six break and enters to outbuildings located on the property of seasonal residences in the 1000 – 2000 blocks of Haviland Shores Drive. One break and enter to an outbuilding was also reported in the 500 block of Haviland Shores Drive and one seasonal residence was entered.
The break-in’s occurred between June 10 – 12, 2015. Numerous items were stolen including a Stihl cordless chainsaw, a Stihl weedwacker, a water filtration system, fishing gear, as assortment of tools and gas cans.

 

(AWERES TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 14, 2015 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a 911 call regarding a male found in a camping trailer in the 200 block of Highway 17 north.

The owner had returned to their trailer to find a male not known to them inside the trailer. The suspect then fled the trailer with property belonging to the owner. The suspect was apprehended a short time later by police.
As a result of this investigation Robert DAYNARD, 49 years of age, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with theft under $5000.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on July 20, 2015.
