On the 7th of June the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service will be partnering with the Safe Communities Partnership, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services at the Kidz Summer Safety Festival.
Children have been learning about safety all year at school and we want to give them one more reminder to play safe during the summer so that every child returns to school; ready to learn in the fall.
The Kidz Summer Safety Festival is a day of interactive displays and exhibits from various vendors and service providers and will focus on fun and injury prevention activities.
The event will take place on Sunday June 7th between 11 am and 3 pm at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion. The event will take place come rain or shine. Admission is free
Activities will include a bike rodeo, bike registration, train rides, swimming and water safety, boating safety, face painting, an inflatable park, bicycle helmet fitting, finger printing and much more.
Children will have a chance to check out a police car, a fire truck, an ambulance as well as a school bus.
Internationally acclaimed children’s performer “RONNO” will be making appearances at 11:30 am and 2 pm.
Other organizations represented include Emergency Medical Services, the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, Algoma Public Health, Ministry of Natural Resources, Sault Search and Rescue, Electrical Safety Authority, Student First, Algoma Power, Power Sail Squadron, the Robotics Society, John Rhodes Pool Swimming Safety, Safe Kids Identification courteously of Honda and Child Care Algoma.
If you are hungry while at the festival you can purchase food from a barbeque on site.
There are opportunities to win door prizes including bicycles as well. In order to will a prize you will need to check out all the cools safety displays where safety tips will be shared.
