A brand new feature at the 2015 Sustain Algoma Expo, formerly known as the Green Expo will be the first 3P Pitch Competition. The competition will showcase products and services that have a 3P (people, profit, planet) benefit to the local community.
Sustain Algoma is inviting young entrepreneurs, inventors and innovators, ages 15-35 to pitch their original product, service or business ideas to a panel of industry experts for a chance to win valuable prizes.
The pitch can focus on either a brand new product or can be a new innovation to an existing product or business process or that will contribute to a more sustainable Algoma. Intangible but feasible idea submissions are also encouraged.
Pitch submissions should comprise of unique concepts that can be applied to industry sectors that include but are not limited to agriculture, health, recreation, IT, water management, forestry, energy and social enterprises while meeting the end goal of being socially responsible to people and the planet while generating a profit.
The preliminary deadline for the pitch competition is July 17thth, 2015 at 4:00 pm which will require a one to two page summary of the idea. The top 5 finalist will be chosen to present on the pitch stage, which will be at the Sustain Algoma Expo at the Johnson Township Community Centre on July 25th.
One cash prize of $500 is currently available with more to be announced shortly, courtesy of the East Algoma Community Futures Development Corporation in Blind River.
