There’s a New Boss at Searchmont

Searchmont Ski Association Inc. (SSAI) is pleased to announce that the search for a  new General
Manager is complete and Colin Wilson is the successful candidate who will be assuming the role
as of June 22nd. “Colin has a strong background in community development, customer service,
project facilitation and budget/resource management. These are essential skills for achieving our
vision of a sustainable Resort” says SSAI Board President, Justus Veldman.
With the acquisition of the Resort assets by the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation
(SSMEDC), Colin’s experience in municipal, provincial, federal and private sector partnerships will
contribute to building community linkages.

Most recently, Colin was Program Manager for the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the
Government of Ontario, and Canada’s largest granting foundation.

His education includes a certificate in sustainable outdoor recreation management and a Bachelor
of Arts in Geography and Aboriginal Education. Colin is a Level 1 certified ski instructor and an
avid outdoors enthusiast.

He has extensive volunteer and community service experience. Colin grew up skiing at Searchmont
and has instructed with the Searchmont Snow School.

He is eager to work together with SSAI, SSMEDC and the Resort team to build community linkages.
