Sault Ste. Marie, ON (July 10, 2015) – The local tourism industry would like to remind the public that the Agawa Canyon Tour Train has been and will continue to run its daily service for the entire season. The attraction is in no way impacted by the recent announcement of the cancellation of the passenger rail service between Sault Ste. Marie and Hearst.

The 2015 season for the Agawa Canyon Tour Train runs until October 12. The tourist attraction, which takes passengers on a one-day wilderness excursion 114 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie, recently underwent an $11-million overhaul and now features upgraded coaches, onboard audio/video technology and other amenities.

“This year, Tourism Sault Ste. Marie and our industry partners stepped up our efforts to implement a more aggressive marketing plan in Ontario and the U.S. in support of the Agawa Canyon Train Tour,” said Ian McMillan, Executive Director of Tourism Sault Ste. Marie, a division of the Economic Development Corporation. “The Tour Train remains the region’s number one travel generator, and we look forward to another successful season.”

  1. The government sure screwed this up with their cheapness, while they squander billions of dollars elsewhere.
