On July 24, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck and a car at the intersection of Highway 17 and Watson’s Road.
The pick-up truck was crossing the intersection when it collided with a car travelling eastbound on Highway 17.
No injuries were reported.
Both vehicles had to be towed.
The driver of the pick-up truck, Mark CROCKFORD, 55 years, of Johnson Township was charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic as per section 144(8) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
Drugs and Open Liqour
On Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:10 a.m. an officer from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Great Northern Road.
Further investigation revealed a quantity of drugs and open liquor located in the vehicle.
As a result, a woman, 28 years, of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and charged with:
· One count of Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
· One count of Possession of a Schedule III Substance as per the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
· One count of Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor as per the Liquor License Act of Ontario.
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on August 24, 2015.
